When you sign up to The Birth Library, submit a podcast guest expression of interest, or contact us through this website, we may collect:

Your stage of pregnancy or postpartum, your state or territory, and your topic preferences (mothers only)
Your profession, business name, website, social handles, and location (practitioners and founders only)
A few sentences about your work and what you would love to talk about (podcast guest expressions of interest only)
Your IP address, browser type and version, operating system
The pages you visit and features you use on our site
We also use cookies and similar technologies to analyse trends, administer the website, and understand how visitors move through our site. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit your use of certain features. We do not collect financial information, sensitive personal information, or anything we do not need.

Your personal data is processed in Australia by The Birth Library.
Some of your data is also processed on our behalf by trusted third-party service providers (for example, the platform that hosts our website, the platform that processes our forms, and the platform that manages our email list). These providers may store data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. By submitting a form on this site, you consent to your data being stored and processed in these locations. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with any third party for marketing purposes.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We retain your information for as long as you are subscribed to our updates, or as needed to provide you with the services you have requested. We may also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and uphold our agreements. After this period, your data is irreversibly deleted. Some or all of your data may be stored outside of the European Economic Area. You are deemed to accept and agree to this by using our site and submitting information to us.
Data security is important to us. We have taken reasonable measures to safeguard and secure the data collected through our site, including ensuring that your connection to our website is secure, and that internal access to personal information is restricted to those who need it.
WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our information practices or as new features are added to the site. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the address you have given us) or by means of a notice on this website. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
This is the working version of our privacy policy while The Birth Library is in pre-launch. It will be reviewed and expanded before any new data-collection features are added beyond the current signup and expression of interest forms.
